Software Technical Support Specialist -- HP -- Singapore

HP - Palm's global business unit is searching for a Developer Relations Support Engineer.  This individual will join a highly motivated and growing team that supports a vibrant developer community for HP-Palm webOS and the mobile web in the APJ region. You also represent a new generation of support, outreach and evangelism, whose focus is on collaboration both within the corporation and with our prospective developer community to deliver the best experience to consumers by maximizing webOS content, apps and support tools.    In this role, you will bring your engineering experience to the table as you both interact with third party developers helping them build fantastic experiences, while also working with the product management and core engineering team on making the platform the best it can be for developers. You will also be the main voice talking to the developer community in developer events across APJ, getting them motivated to join our community and contribute.   The ideal candidate must be a passionate individual with strong web development skills who thrives on solving problems with code and also engaging with developer communities and is effective working on a global team.   Essential Duties and Accountabilities   ·         Become fluent in the webOS Platform and SDK. ·         Support selected developer events within APJ, using them to educate the developer community. ·         Acting as an advocate with the developer community, not only through events, but also blogs, social media, online forums, etc... ·         Leverage documentation and tools from the developer relations team in the US and complement as necessary to make them relevant in the APJ  region, writing articles, blogs and presentations that speak to European developers. ·         Support third party developers as they create applications for the webOS platform, both 1:1 and through the developer forums. ·         Build applications and sample code that showcases the platform. ·         Support the business development team as technical contact when scoping our and technically planning top webOS applications. ·         Act as the main bridge between the US team and the APJ apps team when it comes to the technical capabilities of our platform, the roadmap and the vision for the SDK.
