Posted Position Title: Controller, GBS Hong Kong Career Level: Experienced FunctionFinance Function Segment: Controllership Location: Hong Kong City: Hong Kong Relocation AssistanceNo Essential ResponsibilitiesFP&A - Partner with Center and/or FP&A Leaders to validate the forecasts and interim submissions SOX - Implement SOX-like controls for all country financial processes Process Controllership - Own the accounting and period close of the books. Review Processes with Ops/Center Leader and champion lean, compliant processes. Lead/support implementation of initiatives. Indirect Taxes - Ensure compliance with tax invoicing and filings, and coordinate with Tax team for support. Implement changes per the Biller process and ensure training to teams. Account Recs - Review GBS and SBS recs for quality and work with the Business to ensure early and compliant reconciliation. Ensure level loads for recs cycle and escalate issues to region/biz asap. Ensure deep-dive reviews of accounts migrated to GBS SBS Controllership - Deliver the SBS controllership on all services to businesses and, report periodically to business via the SBS pack Product - Work with the operations team to develop and implement resilient controls and regularly review the same. Training - Participate in trainings and deliver the same to in-country teams. Identify knowledge weakness within the finance team and, ensure timely & relevant training Audits - Audit financials and processes, action open issues, and participate in peer reviews and audits. Lead the local STAT/TAX audit and filings. Transitions - Ensure due diligence and complete SLAs on all transitions to GBS, and review the same with Asia Controller for signoff. Rep Letter Reporting - Review all processes and report compliant rep letters in coordination with the Center Leaders Pre-Close Reviews - Prepare and deliver the site financials in the pre-close reviews with the GBS HQ & Regional teams. Action and close all issue findings from the reviews. Controllership Councils - Participate in cross-biz councils. Lead the Country GBS controllership Council. Attend and actively participate in Regional/Country Controllership councils and 1-on-1 reviews with Asia Controller. Communications - Partner with customer businesses and foster open and reasonably frequent communications with them. Qualifications/Requirements:• University degree in Finance or Business • Strong accounting experience and analytical skills • Proven communication and leadership skills • Self-motivated and able to operate effectively in a team environment • Ability to grasp operational concepts & processes • Proactive with a strong problem-solving orientation Desired Characteristics• MBA with a concentration in Finance/Accounting • CPA or equivalent, big 4 public accounting firm • Familiarity with GE financial processes and cycles • Previous controllership experience
